This night with these two couldn’t have been more perfect – from the little to no bugs, the warm sunset peeking through the trees, to the cool breeze off the St. Croix River near Taylors Falls.  Mark and Machaela are two of the kindest people you will ever meet, and I have been extra blessed to get to know them through the last few months.

Mark and Machaela share a love for dancing and adventuring together on hikes, so it only seemed fitting that we incorporate these into their engagement session.  And let me tell you, these two know how to dance!  *insert jaw drop when they took off effortlessly across the rocks along the river*

They both are gentle and caring souls – this was not only evident in their care and concern for me when I reported to them I had a tick disease related flare up the week of their session and was still experiencing a few symptoms.  But, this was also clearly evident in their interaction with each other.  I saw so much strength, support, joy, tenderness, and love between these two, as I had them get cozy, run around, do a few crazy things, and snuggle up together.  They had told me that their faith and love for God and their church is highly important to them, and I could easily tell this through our interaction and how they were so connected to each other.  They have built a relationship together on a strong foundation in the Lord, and their marriage will be off to a fantastic start because of this.

We spent an extra long time visiting while we wandered around Interstate State Park, and I left feeling like I gained a couple of good friends.  I love this about my job – meeting so many new people from different walks of life, witnessing the uniqueness of each relationship and personality, and being able to call clients friends (and maybe follow along with them and creep on them on social media, hehe).

When I asked them what they were most excited about for their wedding day in January, their response was “Do a fricken good wedding, and have a good time with our pals.”  I have no doubt this will be what their day entails (plus a bit of freezing fingers and toes, because Minnesota winters are no joke for those who aren’t already aware).

Mark and Machaela, I can not wait to be a part of that good time celebrating you two!
